CULTURAL AND ARTISTIC DIALOGUE BETWEEN UKRAINE AND CHINA DURING UKRAINE’S INDEPENDENCE. MYKHAILO HUYDA’S WORK AS A CULTURAL LINK BETWEEN UKRAINE AND CHINA

Abstract

Purpose of the work. The article is devoted to the analysis of cultural and artistic exchanges between Ukraine and China through the prism of the work of the outstanding Ukrainian artist and teacher Mykhailo Huyda. The main purpose of the study is to highlight the work of Mykhailo Huyda in the context of cultural and artistic exchanges between Ukraine and China, as well as to analyze his influence on the popularization of the Ukrainian art school through teaching in Chinese higher educational institutions. Methodology. General scientific research methods were applied, in particular, comparative analysis, a historical approach – to highlight the stages of development of these exchanges in the context of historical events, in particular the period of Ukraine’s independence; contextual analysis – in order to consider the work of Mykhailo Huyda within the framework of his influence on the Chinese artistic environment and the Ukrainian artistic tradition. A theoretical-artistic and visual approach using descriptive analysis was applied, including the interpretation of the artist’s contribution through teaching and artistic activities and a culturological approach – to study the interaction of two cultures through the prism of art as a tool of dialogue. Scientific novelty. The role of M. Huyda in promoting cultural dialogue between two different cultures was determined, as well as a significant contribution to the enrichment of artistic discourse. The main mechanisms and influences of his activities on the formation of a new artistic discourse were determined. which allows to deepen the understanding of the processes of intercultural exchange and emphasize the importance of Ukrainian art in the global context. The features of cultural and artistic exchange between Ukraine and China were analyzed, the Ukrainian artistic tradition was compared with the Chinese. Conclusions. The study substantiates the unique role of Mykhailo Huyda as an artist and teacher, which contributes to the integration of the Ukrainian art school into the cultural and educational environment of China.
