DEVELOPMENT OF EMOTION INTELLIGENCE OF EMPLOYEES IN SOCIAL SERVICE INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article addresses the issue of developing the emotional intelligence of social workers. It is emphasized that amid the many opportunities for advanced training from various sources, internal organizational work is needed within the social service institution. A relevant pilot program is presented, which includes diagnostic, transformative, and environmental components. The diagnostic component of the proposed pilot program implements a data-driven management approach. The article presents the results of a corresponding diagnosis using the N. Hall methodology, which was applied in the pilot institution. The transformative component is developed based on a social-emotional learning model. The practice of using the Gemini artificial intelligence to generate standard emotional intelligence training content and its subsequent adaptation to the diagnostic data in the pilot institution is presented. The training focuses on deepening emotional awareness, emotion management, improving the skills of recognizing others’ emotions, and developing self-motivation and empathy. The experience of using artificial intelligence to generate a variable set of cases that reflect different client emotions is also presented. The use of AI to adapt training materials to the specific needs of a social service institution is considered an approach that can increase the effectiveness of the training and achieve maximum benefit for the professional activities of the institution’s social workers. It is substantiated that the effectiveness of the emotional intelligence development program for social workers depends not only on the training but also on the overall organizational environment of the institution. Therefore, the environmental component of the pilot program, presented in the article, involves the analysis of formal and informal relationships, the improvement of internal communication algorithms, the formation of ethical policies, and the creation of a general environment of emotional stability.
