Abstract

The article analyzes the psychological aspects of emotional intelligence development in managers as an important factor in their professional competence. It emphasizes that emotional intelligence is an integral characteristic of personality, which combines the ability to recognize one’s own emotional states, regulate them adequately, understand other people’s experiences, and effectively build social interaction. The specifics of the manifestation of emotional competence in managerial activity are revealed, which consists in the ability to maintain psychological balance, constructively resolve conflict situations, motivate the team, and create a favorable socio-psychological climate in the organization. The main psychological factors that influence the formation of emotional intelligence in managers are highlighted, including management experience, individual personality traits, and the ability to self-reflect. It is emphasized that the development of emotional competence contributes to improving the effectiveness of management decisions, reducing the level of professional stress, strengthening leadership potential, and creating an atmosphere of trust and cooperation in the team. The article emphasizes that emotional intelligence is not a fixed characteristic, but can be developed throughout life with purposeful training and practice. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the conclusions obtained to improve the system of training management personnel. In particular, it is recommended to include the development of emotional competence in professional training and retraining programs for managers, which will increase their adaptability to changing conditions, strengthen communication skills, and prevent professional burnout. It is concluded that the formation of emotional intelligence is a necessary condition for successful management activity, as well as one of the main resources for the personal and professional growth of a modern manager.
