SOCIAL AND PEDAGOGICAL METHODS OF DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP QUALITIES OF FUTURE SOCIAL WORKERS

Abstract

Modern conditions require a high level of professionalism and continuous professional development from future social workers. Personal characteristics of a specialist, such as the development of leadership qualities, affect the effectiveness of the functioning of the management system, the sphere of social work. In our society, there is an urgent need to develop the leadership qualities of future social workers. An effective way of their actualization and development is the use of socio-pedagogical methods. The article analyzes the problem of leadership in social work; the definition of the concept of "leadership" is considered and the author's interpretation of the concept is given. The need to develop the leadership potential of education seekers has been determined. The purpose of our research: to determine effective socio-pedagogical methods of developing leadership qualities of future social workers and the need for their implementation in the educational process. To achieve the goal, we used the following methods: observation, comparison and analysis. Within the scope of our research, we identified the need to update traditional methods and ways of state-management relations, filled with new content of the professional activity of future social workers, and identified the most effective socio-pedagogical methods of leadership development in higher education. Solving this problem will undoubtedly improve the quality of training of future social workers who will develop social work and implement innovative social services. During the research, we came to the conclusion that not all socio-pedagogical methods contribute to the development of leadership qualities of future social workers at a sufficient level. Training – learning by experience turned out to be the most effective socio-pedagogical method. It provides an opportunity to share and exchange your thoughts and views, as well as to work together to find a solution, showing yourself and your abilities. Moreover, it is able to form and develop the necessary skills, abilities and qualities, which makes it an ideal method of leadership development. The training contributes to the formation of a leadership self-concept, develops a positive selfperception, contributes to the formation of responsibility and a leadership worldview.
